After completing my Genuinely Jane Tag Book, I did another page, this time on a house book!  This is a bonus to my blog hop post.  Posting it first so you can see as it is a free-form way I love to create.  Paints and collage!

FDS January kit and Genuinely Jane Studios make a perfect partner!!!  I chose to collage this wonderful wood tag book using several different techniques.
One being LEAFING
The second being Encaustic Collage

The background is painted with some Distressed Paints and Distressed Stains.

Close up of the lady and collage with leafing.

A double-tack adhesive or adhesive sheet is used on various areas of the wood.  Then the leafing is pressed on the tacky surface.

A Texture Sponge is used to burnish the leafing.  Do this over the box as the extra pieces can be used again!

The second wood page is collage and the focal point is done with an encaustic collage technique on a laminate chip.  Many techniques such as using clear for collaging, adding tint to clear wax, colored wax impressed.

Closer look at the encaustic collage on the laminate chip.

To repeat the process of the first (cover) wood tag, I used the leafing again, and collaged.  Again with Distressed Paint and Distressed Stain.

Gold Gelly Roll Pen is used to make dimensional beads on the woman's headpiece.

The last page is re-using some of the same ephemera from the other pages.  The collage image is enhanced with chalk and Copic pens.

Here she is.  Subtle accents with other media enhance the collage image.

Mixed Media is the Word!  Use Genuinely Jane wood surfaces.  Use the January or ANY FDS kit, use mediums like chalk, leafing, Copics, Gelly Roll paints, or various types of paints and inks!
