Niji Pearescent Watercolors

This post is from last week. The weather was still mild, beautiful autumn scenery outside.  This week it is cold and getting colder.

Please check out the Niji Creative Collective and see my post/tutorial on the beauty of nature.  A very free-form way to paint with Niji Pearlescent Watercolors.  By letting colors mix together at certain points and other stand out, you can achieve wonderful shading.  Adding splotches add to the look of the leaf falling or sitting in a puddle.

Bo Bunny accents are great to finish any artwork.

Nature is spiritual to me.  Any season brings new colors, shapes, and textures to take in.  I honor all nature and what it brings to my heart.

New Altered Arts Design Team Member

Starting in December I will start posting mixed-media art to showcase Altered Arts Magazine.  I will also be working on projects for publication in the magazine as part of the DT.

I remember when Altered Arts first started out....that was many, many years ago.  I was honored to have a few articles published in the magazine back then.

Before Scrapbooking took off in a big way within the industry, altered arts was the big thing, especially altered books.  Saving a book from a garbage dump made me happy!  To Recycle and have a book filled with pages of canvases, excited me.

This was from one of the articles for Altered Arts Magazine.  This was showing using brads to create a tip in page.

Here is more of the article with other types of tip in pages with resources, and tutorials.

Altered Arts Magazine is a way to get inspired, learn new techniques and see TONS of eye candy.  I feel that recycling is a good way to create new art, and by altering it; you give new life to an old item.  Brand new containers and such can be altered as well.

Head to Altered Art's website.   The magazine comes in hard copy as well as an Ezine.  There is a blog and lots of interesting things to look at!

I am so delighted to now be sort of behind the scenes at the magazine and have my projects published along side the other DT members.  Be watching my blog for projects coming up!!!
