Mica ATC with Frog Dog Studio

I really enjoyed creating with Frog Dog Studio's August Kit!

Go to Frog Dog Studio Blog (see link above), click on the blog tab and see how to create this ATC!

The base was kraft board ATC, and I used Sakura of America Cray Pas Expressionist Oil Pastel in white to cover the kraft board.  This was instead of using Gesso.

Various colors of mica powders were brushed over the oil pastel.  Two stamp images (retired Viva Las Vegastamps) to add depth to background.  Each image was stamped in different colors.

The collage images are from ArtChix Studios.  Read the FDS blog to see how I enhanced the collage of the woman, and the extra 3D embellishments.

Collaging with many media is my favorite!

Viva Las Vegastamps Folds 'Em with Scor Pal

Scor Pal enhances art I stamp with Viva Las Vegastamps images!  It is there to inspire me to think outside the box with my designs.  Two designs were created for this blog hop.  It started on Monday, VLVS Blog.

For the first project, designed paper was designed on cardstock before scoring it into a pillow box.  I played with designs from my own and a coloring page and used graphite transfer paper to transfer the design.
Each area was colored with Sakura of America Cray Pas - Expressionist Oil Pastels to color parts, then use odorless mineral spirits and a watercolor brush to break down the binder in the oil pastel and paint the areas.  I love shading and blending colors.
Sakura of America's Micron Pen .03 was used to outline the pencil image I transferred.  I did this before the Cray Pas, and touched up after.

Scor Pal makes it easy to line up your paper and scor the way the art needs to.  Google "templates" if you need patterns for creating specialized shapes, and Scor Pal has comprehensive information with measurements to make envelopes and boxes.
The image is a Mary Logel Vozinak image from VLVS.  The  wind-up bunny is colored with Sakura of America Gelly Roll Pens.  The sentiment is cut out, edged and put on the box after some embellishing.
A simple box made special with VLVS images!!!  I made the box first and then used a grid to punch holes out.  You can do as many as I did or do just a few.  There is cardstock with stamped patterns inside the box so the pattern shows through the front.  The tag is a "double tag," patterned paper with plain paper on top that has been stamped.
There are alot of stamp images, so here they are:
Miracle Tape 1/8"

Cut out template shape and then score.

I did a different painting technique with Cray Pas and mineral oil.  I colored plastic with the Cray Pas, then I used the mineral oil to break down the binders.  Then painted to accent the box top.

Here is a shot showing how easy it is to use Miracle Tape to make box, etc.  This image is showing that I am putting it around the perimeter of the inside of the box so I can adhere stamped cardstock.  When you turn it over, the patterns show through.
Follow Viva Las Vegastamps Blog every day this week and see all the IDEAS with SCOR PAL, a very versatile tool to help you create dimensional art!!!

Inspiration Board

Viva Las Vegastamps is starting their monthly challenges again!!!!  Not only share your inspsirations with everyone, but a chance to win free rubber!!!

For me, to see what everyone comes up with from the original, excites and inspires me.  hmmmm that's why they call it an Inspiration Board!!!

Click on the link above and see the original art to base your inspiration off of, how to link your art up, and how to win some FREE RUBBER!

My art is about Time Flies, so Be True.  I took a watercolor slant on the original.  The watch is from a VLVS image that is an ad with the watch and writing, cut it out.  The wings are from an angel baby image with wings.  The baby has its hands over its ears - cut that out.  Floral selection, painted and cut, bullseyes.  Be True word stamp.

Mica watercolors, paint, Sakura Gelly Roll Metallic pen for stictches.  The metallic pens work as a compliment to the mica watercolors.

Click on the link above to see the original artwork!!!  Then jump in and create your own artwork.  There is no right or wrong way to express yourself with your VLVS stamp images.
