Genuinely Jane shines with Viva Las Vegastamps!

Viva Las Vegastamps and Genuinely Jane are doing a blog hop!!

Comment to WIN lb. of rubber for Viva Las Vegastamps, or $20.00 Gift Coupon from Genuinely Jane Studios!!!

Genuinely Jane carries WOOD board books in many shapes and sizes.  Several pages hooked together by a jump ring.  I love all of the designs so while I have finished just 1 page of my examples,  each book comes with several pages!

A little bit of Steampunk going on with a walk to shop, art, and having a libation!!!

190508 - Ink, Drink, and Be Merry

Sakura of America - Florescent Gelly Roll Pen
Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive

Deocorative paper was adhered with the Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive.  The edge was sanded with fine sand paper, along with the wood side.  This insures a smooth surface for adding paint.

Florescent Gelly Roll pens were colored in a circular motion, then I "swiped" my finger over the surface to spread out the color and mute it a bit.    Do this randomly over the area to highlight and add color.  A stain dauber was used to age and edge the art.

Dots of pigment ink added using the end of a pen cap!

Florescent Gelly Roll pen in blue used full strength and swiped on the lady.

Ink, Drink, and be Merry stamped.

I fell in love with this fence!  So many possibilities.  At first I thought, flowers and spring...but then I received the new Halloween Plate from VLVS, and I knew what I wanted to do!!!

VLVS Supplies:
19209 - Kids with Giant Jack-o-Lantern
19212 - Frightful Fun and Folly (cut off the "and Folly")
18899- Oct 31
5914 - Moon Circle

Miracle Tape
Kromecote Cardstock

VLVS Partners:
Sakura of America - Gelly Roll Florescent, White Glaze Pen, and Stardust Pens
Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive

Other Supplies:
Acrylic Paint - some USArtquest Perfect Pigment Mica Paint
Copics
19 Gauge Wire
Paint Brushes
Japanese Screw Punch

Kromecote is not only to bring out vibrant colors with dye based inks, but takes acrylic and Gelly Roll Pens flawlessly!!!

The fence was painted red-brown, but then black on top.  Then Gold Perfect Pigment is sponged on top.  This is night time, so I want to reflect (ha ha) the moon bouncing off of objects.

I used the Stardust pen on the girl's dress, the moon, and pumpkin.  The Flourescent Gelly Roll was used between the fence, and the pumpkin.  The white Glaze Pen was used on the children in various areas as a different light illuminating.

The grass is a mix of ink and paint to portray realism.  Copics were used for the boy's outfit, and the chlidren's faces/hands.

Here is a Interstate Highway Board Book that is grunged up like a long road trip makes you feel, and bugs on your windshield accumulate!

VLVS Supplies:

19196 - Small Bullseye - solid
19179- The Road Not Taken

Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive

Other Supplies:
Distressed Ink and Stains
Die Cut Sticker
Washi Tape

Perfect shape for scrapping travel photos!  My son is out in Memphis right now and that is the skyline.  It was a really hot and messy 6 hour drive there to move him for this temporary stint.

A real map was used.  First the top of the sign was painted.  Then I traced around the map and cut the sides out but ripped the top for a more natural look.

Edged with stain, splattered with paint.

You can stamp with Distressed Paint but make sure you wash your stamp right away, so no paint dries in the crevices.  I use unmounted stamps just as they are so I just drop them in water and clean when I am done stamping.

Accents with Gelly Roll pens, die cut sticker, and chipboard piece from UmWow Studio.
