Halloween Blog Hop Day 1 - Milk Carton

What a Spooky Way to hold treats, put a gift, or even have a fun UNICEF container once you cut a slit in the top.  The body of the milk carton has an ATC sized art so this basic design can be done over and over again and given out to friends!  Mixing the two new, awesome, Halloween plates, and a couple older Halloween images complete this design.  Ink up the clouds on the full moon and add on the left and right edge as seen in picture.

VLVS images:

Milk Carton:  Mirwood has templates on its website, or if you have an electronic cutter; Lettering Delights (LD) has a milkcarton design as well as other SVG sites.

Flap Design:  The milk carton design has a scalloped edge.  A strip of orange cardstock - using a stencil achieved lines and dots, and with the bat randomly stamped above and below the line.

ATC Design: Stamp the cemetary in permanent black ink going off the bottom of the ATC card (a rectangle of cardstock may be used and then a corner rounder punch to achieve look).  Do the same with the full moon and flock of bats, using black permanent ink.

Stamp the skeleton in purple permanent ink.  Gelly roll pens were used to accent the skeleton.  The flourescent yellow was put on and then smudged almost off so the ink was not raised and dimentional.

Color the moon with Orange Copics, then use the blender pen in a swirl motion and lighten the color.  Use the florescent gelly roll pen to create the light of the moon shining.

Adhere all components with Miracle Tape (A yellow ribbon was added for contrast -use Miracle Tape on back to add adhesive).

Create a scene...make some ghoulish art!  Continue on the blog hop and check out the other Fabulous ideas by our Design Team!!

  3. I love this idea. Getting ready to do something for my daughter's class. She is a 5/6th grade teacher. I love to add a pencil and other things. This would definitely work. Your image is so good, I like how you added the jelly roll pen. I love that you stamped the skeleton in purple. I would never have thought to use that color. What a great job! tfs Tami

    2. oops I mean your daughter can use it for her class. There are some cute Halloween images on Viva Las Vegastamps' site if you need to tame it down, but I guess 5th and 6th graders like it spooky!
